Join us on June 9 for our monthly Walk and Talk in Grandmother’s Garden in the Sloss Quarters. This month we’ll be talking about GMOs in Grandmother’s Garden? Horticulturalist Sallie Lee will talk about “Genetically modified organisms” and how they are living things that have been manipulated for a different set of genes. We will discuss how they differ from heirlooms and hybrids and if “grandmother” would have planted them. We’ll mainly talk about tomatoes, corn, and yellow squash.
This event is located behind the Birmingham Historical Society building on the Sloss Furnaces property.
